Christmas 2008

Where has this week gone? It flew by for me. We had 6 different stops on our agenda for Christmas. It all began last Sunday at my mom's house and then the following few pics show where we went. I finally had time this evening to sit and blog some. I had so many pics to look through and organize. I love Christmas time and love the family time. We had such a great time this yr with everyone. But more importantly, the Reason for the Season, is what makes everything so special. Where would we be without Jesus!! We have been on the go all week, literally from here to there. The kids had a blast but I think it was a bit overwhelming at times, with the lack of rest. But we wouldn't trade the memories for anything. We always leave a house and say why don't we get together more often? Nothing is better than spending time together with family and all the laughs. We tried to stress to Keira how blessed she is (and Brock) to have so many people who love them and care for them. We tell her not many kids receive the amount of gifts they do, and she did say she wanted to help other children. I am overwhelmed at all they receive and it is amazing the outpouring of love for my children. I only hope they will be as generous to family and others as they have been shown in their little lives so far. I could go on and on........but I hear daddy upstairs about ready to bang his head on the wall as it is bedtime and he is getting Keira out of the tub and Brock is trying to get back into the tub. LOL The joy of toddlers never stops!!!! Photobucket

Papaw Woody & Mamaw Peggy's

Christmas Eve morning we had breakfast at my dad and step-mom's house. My brother and Peggy's son, Brian, came also. Breakfast was so awesome. I had baked french toast for the first time and now have a new favorite breakfast food. We had a great time enjoying family and the the kids oved pening gifts.
Brock was intrigued with Keira's Barbaie laptop. complete with earphones, a mouse, mouse pad, and memory card. Among other great gifts, they got this table which is perfect for them. It has little stools and so much storage for coloring, paint, art, etc. We love it!!

Papaw & Mamaw Leffew

Christmas evening we went and had supper and family time. Just to be funny, we wrapped my KY jersey up for papaw. This was my number and it has Leffew on the back. His face was cracking me up in all the pics I took of him unwrapping this. Mamaw got the KY can, and what was funny, was Keira had just grabbed this out of the house and said she wanted to give it to Mamaw. I never gave her the idea to do that.
Keira in her new apron Mamaw made. We got matching aprons from Mamaw. Papaw helping Brock open his guitar. Keira also got a cupcake maker, which she was so excited over. We tried it yesterday and it does well.

Friday night

Friday evening we went to my grandparents home to celebrate Christmas with the Duncan's. Aunt Teresa began a tradition with the kids, that as soon as they arrive, they can open one present. Keira got this cool interactive dollhouse and loved it. Brock got a huge Tonka bulldozer. Brock was more interested in the dollhouse. HA!!
Brock being silly and with one of his toys. We had such a good time. The adults play the dirty santa game and poor Brandon got 2 items taken from him, one by his own father-in-law. LOL Photobucket

Early Christmas

This past Sunday the kids and I surprised my mom by going to her church to hear her sing in the choirs performance. She did an excellent job singing her solo. Too bad I inherited no musical ability from her. We then went to her house for lunch and to open gifts since my step-dad would be in TN. Long story about that - my mom splits her time between here and Georgia, they have 2 homes now. Anyways.......
Brock opening one of his cars up. He also got the big car mat, which he loves.
Keira (and her serious face) with Dora , Brock also loved this gift. He thought it should be his. He is still in love with Dora.
She had asked for a scooter awhile back since all the neighborhood kids have them. Grammie and Papaw Gary came through with a Princess scooter. I better get the band-aids ready. We told her she has to wear a helmet, which I am sure will be a battle. Keira can't wait for Christmas Eve and Day with all our families. She asks every night " When I get up, will it be Christmas?" I remind her everday why we celebrate. JESUS!!!!!! On a sad note : I had set the camcorder on the beginning of Keira's school "play" to show my mom and forgot I did that, I gave the camera to Brandon to tape the kids opening gifts and yep we taped over it. I was so sick at my stomach, I could have cried. The parts of them singing is still on the tape but it completely covered the performance. I hope another mother at the school will be kind enought make me a copy of their footage. I won't see them until after school starts back up. It still makes me almost cry to think about what I did.
