pics of chicks

One of Aunt She-She "beautiful" chickens. On Sundays after lunch one of the kids favorite activites of the day is to ride in the wagon over to Uncle Tim and Aunt She-She's. They love exploring around the chickens, and Brock decided to pick up poop today. Lovely! We can't wait till they get goats and whatever else. Seems like another animal but my mind went blank....

Uncle Tim and Brock headed to the chickens. Brock loves Tim and I love to hear him say all the family's names now. So cute!! Aunt She-She letting Keira pet one.

more Sunday

Papaw and Mamaw have the tree decorated with eggs and the kids loved it!
I had several great photos with Keira in them, but she refused to look my way and most pics are of her backside. Girls and attitude, wonder who she got that from?
Finally, Keira looked my way. I took several shots here and love the yellow. Photobucket

Past week

I just realized it has been a week since I posted anything, time flies.  We have been busy this week and I didn't take pictures.  I keep planning on practicing with my new camera outside, but never did. Sunday we had our charter service at church.  We oficially own the building and a steeple was put up and a new sign with GRACE COMMUNITY.  Brandon actually took part in the signing of the loan papers, and of course, I was w/o a camera.  Most Sundays I am just managing getting to church on time and forgot to take pics.  So, I have to ask others for copies!    How blessed our church has been the passt 10 months, to go from no place to worship, to having a building.  God is good!  Brock wore his rainboots to church and when I was walking towards the basement for lunch, I see some men laughing, Uncle Tim had him jumping in a rain puddle.  He was loving it!   He has wore the rainboots the past week, except 1 day.   Tuesday, my tax man got a day off work since he has worked so much lately.  He took Keira to school, she was thrilled, and then we took Brock to gym and then did some shopping.  A great day!
Wed. morning at 1:15 am Keira wakes up crying her neck hurts, we didn't sleep the rest of the morning.  Brock woke 2 times and then she finally was able to go to sleep.  I took her to the doctor at 9 and she has a crick (spelling??) in her neck and the start of an ear infection on the opposite side.   Glad we caught the infection early.  She was so pitiful since she couldn't turn her neck and was sweet the rest of the day to be in pain.  I planned on staying home from church, but she insisted we go, so we did, since she had done better as the day went on.
I want bore you with my Thursday.  Brock and I enjoyed time playing outside while Keira was at school.  However, he did pitch a fit when I made him come on.  Oh, warm weather is going to be fun this yr, with both of them wanting to be outside all the time :)
I am in the process of running and was hoping to make a 5K race next weekend, but I am not certain I can physically do that with less than 2 weeks training.   Time will tell.  My mind says yes, but when I run my body says no way.  Determination is the key here, and I will have to  push hard this week and hopefully by next Friday I will be able to see if I can run or not.  It would help if I would quit eating sweets.....have to think about that one :)  Photobucket

Upset Little Man

Mamaw and I took the kids shopping today. By the way, Gymboree has a sale going on right now. While shoe shopping in Stride Rite, Brock become obsessed with rain boots. The train and car boots came off the display and onto his feet. He loved them. No way, was I paying $40 for these things.
Sorry Brock, No pink shoes for you.
This is what happened when I made him take off the rainboots and try on some sandals. Finally, he caved and tried on the shoes, but as soon as the sandals came off, he had the boots back on, since he could do it w/o help. We pay and pack up to leave and I put the boots back on display, Brock goes into a major fit, I am talking like nothing I have ever seen before. He starts crying and is so irate! He turns past the color of blood red and is literally so mad I think he may explode. Mamaw and I are in shock, but laughing. Then, he is so worked up he almosts vomits. I don't want to pick him up if he is going to vomit, b/c I don't have extra clothes and don't want to be puked on. Would be different if he was sick! Thankfully, he only has alot of slobber come out and I pick him up and leave. He is screaming all the way to the play area. Mamaw ditched us as soon as we walked out of stride rite and went to JCPenneys, she says she had a coupon or something to use, whatever Mamaw, you didn't want to be seen walking with us, as people looked at me like I am crazy, pushing a huge stroller weighed down with shopping bags, holding a screaming child, and trying to make sure the girl is still beside me, all the while thinking this is the perfect opportunity for someone to still my huge purse. I know what Mamaw was thinking, she would show up when everyone was playing, back to happy mode. HA HA I love you Mamaw!!! You do put up with a lot anytime we go shopping, I am surprised you still want to go with us. Make sure to read the next post :)

Happy Little Man!

We went and played at the play area and I had talked to Brandon about what went on earlier. Brandon told me to go buy him the shoes. I did not want Brock thinking he got them b/c of the fit he pitched. But, since he had played and forgotten about the boots, I figured he wouldn't put it all together and we didn't buy them simply b/c he did pitch a fit. That is the last thing we would resort too. Sometimes, you just do things simply b/c you love your babies so much and Brock is such a good boy majority of the time, we figured why not. He has never pitched a fit like this before either. So, we head back to the store and he wants the car and the train boot. The sales lady goes and gets both boxes and we let him decide which pair. Obviously, he chose the train. He was thrilled and was walking around going "choo-choo" He wore them out of the store and was so proud. His face was so precious and of course he got many smiles and comments as we made our way through the mall. The kids also loke to stop in front of stores that play music and dance, they were cracking Mamaw and I up (as well as others). What a fun day shopping!!

Wed. Night

Keira went to church wed night with stamps on her face. I have no idea what made her want to do this, she just decided to put stamps all over her body. For her to be so shy and not want attention from others, I was shocked she did this. She knew it would bring attention b/c she said "Mom, do you think people will say, look at that girl?" Well, she did get many comments. She surprises me at times, especially on on Awana nights when we have themes, she wants to participate, but then says something along the lines of "No, I don't want anyone to see me like that" or "I don't want to show anyone." You never know with this girl :)

What's on my mind this week?

Not the best pic of us, but I hadn't taken any pics this past week or so. ABORTION has been on my mind heavily this past week. It makes me sick to my stomach if I think about the process and I wish I had never watched a video on how it is done, especially in the later stages pregnancy. I get upset thinking about women who choose this path, doctors and nurses who more than willingy to assist in this. When did being in the medical field consist of killing - I thought it was to help and save lives? I guess with our intelligent President changing the stem cell laws this has been going through my head. I get so upset thinking that so many babies are being aborted simply because people chose to have unprotected sex, maybe outside of marriage, or even in a marriage and think that a baby will just ruin their lives or careers, well shame on you selfish people, what if your parents had aborted you? I know their is plent of other reasons why people abort and I want list them all. Who has time for that? But what gets me is that our nation has taken it upon itself to toss aside life, like it is a piece of trash, when you don't want it or din't plan on it, toss it out. I am a firm believer that at conception, life begins. How can anyone look at that first ultrasound and not say that is a living being! Furthermore, since when did it become okay to play "God" and determine when to take a life. Life was created by God, for God. Read Genisis. ABORTION is MURDER in my opinion!!! What does the Bible say about murder. Exodus 20:13 You Shall Not Murder Now tell me, is it hard to understand this verse? Has our country slipped so far away from the 10 commandments that we don't abide by them. Look around, we have. How heartbreaking to think babies are being murdered every day. Exodus 21:22 If men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet there is no injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. verse 23 But if there is any further injury, then you shall apoint as a penalty life for life, Here again we are told the fetus is considered a person and someone should be held accountable for its death or injury. I cannot understand for the life of me how anyone can lay on that table and let some cold doctor do this to them, but on the other hand, I do know why and understand it is all Satan and normally people who are lost. I once heard abortion is like a sacrifice to the demons. Maybe so, but at least that little one goes home to be with Jesus and will not have to suffer anymore in this world. A few weeks ago I read how Ashley Judd was speaking out against Sarah Palin allowing wolves to be shot from helicopters. Then, I found out that Ms. Judd had spoken before some gov't committee or something along that line FOR ABORTION. She is all for it!! Well, needless to say, my opinion of her and liking of her as an actress has changed. Then this week my mom had to put her cat down, she was 14, and was having problems. The vet sent a sympathy card, she could have chosen to have her cremated and kept the ashes, or even taken her home and bury her, or take her to a pet cemetary, etc. Well, all of it for a price anyway. I am an animal lover and have been all my life. The only time I have been without a pet was in college when I lived in the dorm. The cat my mom put down was a stray I picked up and she still has the other cat that I picked up yrs ago. Lucky, cat we have, is also a stray I picked up 10 yrs ago. So, another issue on my mind this week goes right with abortion. Has anyone noticed how so many people are more willing to stick out their necks and speak out against the killing of animals. Again, I am totally against animal cruelty and cannot watch tv shows or stories on this. But, the past couple yrs I have had a wake-up call in this area. It seems that we hear more and more "Save the Whale" "Save the dolphin" or any animal. Why are we not fighting for these babies lives that are being slaughtered like animals????? "Save the Babies" should be our chant instead of "Save the Dog" Have you noticed how poeple treat their pets better than some kids are getting treated. They eat, dress, and have beeter homes than alot of kids. We spend billions every yr on our pets, but don't think to spend on orphaned or third world children. I saw a show one time about dog hotels and how the dogs are treated like royalty. And the real topper - how much people pay for this, it wa like $500 a night in NYC. What?? Are you serious? Come on people wake up!! Our society treats animals like equals - What does the Bible say about animals? Read Genisis 1:26-28 Let me parahrase here : God gave man rule over fish, birds, cattle, and every animal. The crowning point of creation, a human being, was made in God's image to rule creation. The command to rule separated him from the rest of creation and defined his relationship as above the rest of creation. Did you get that - we rule over the animal kingdom, we are not equals with them. We are more valuable than an animal. Well, we are suppose to be anyway, but you wouldn't know that in our society. When I see celebrity's speak out for abortion and then to save an animal, I so want to inform them they have it backwards. Well, we know all this stems from sin that entered mankind through Adam, but praise God we have eternal life through Jesus, one day all this will be made right. Photobucket

Gym

Brock is loving gym still. This was the first time they had been on the tumble ramp and he loved it.
Mr. Nosy loves to watch the other classes going on and is amazed by the older kids who can do so many neat flips and jumps. Photobucket

Dora Live

We took the kids to see Dora and they had a blast! I wish I could have filmed thier faces during the show. Brock danced and shook his body so hard, Keira is more reserved but she did bust a few moves, when she thought no one was looking. Taking pics inside was prohibited, but I did get 2 shots of the kids, but they were not great so I won't post them.
It was a very cold night, but we were able to park close by and walked quickly to the door.
The Leffews and The Emorys. I had several pics of the kids but never could get one of all of them looking or sitting still long enough. The show was awesome and I must admit I liked this one better than the Backyardigans last year. On the ride home, the kids stayed wired and we had a meltdown over pretzels 10 minutes from the house. Overall, the evening was a success and a great time with family. Photobucket
