Last weekend

We had a family cookout at my Granny Mullins house. The kids enjoyed playing with their cousins and seeing everyone. I took our bounce house and at first Keira pitched a fit not wanting me to set it up, b/c she did not want to share. Well, she isn't the boss, so it got put up and she had to deal with it. She got over her little fit and ended up playing with the other kids having a great time. We had a big fire for roasting hot dogs and smores. My kids only care about the chocolate part!! Evident by Brock's face.

Kids first duck and crow call

Keira calling for the crows. She actually did good, I guess, but what do I know about this subject.
The master caller showing the kids what to do. Brock pretty much slobbered all over it.
How sure my son will be hunting in a few yrs :) Photobucket

Fun days

Keira made these elephant ears at school. They are learning the letter "E". She does not look happy here and proabably wasn't at the time. I simply wantd a pic of what she had made, but she never consents. My hard-headed child!! On wed evening the theme for Awanas was "Wacky night" so I dressed the kids mismatched and we did their hair up wacky. I couldn't get a better pic b/c they where fighting over hairbows as we were getting ready to leave. Brock was funny with his hair all spiked up everywhere and I pinned Keira's hair up in different places. Photobucket

What this country needs...

As I was reading about some female celebrities slamming Gov. Palin and hearing other news reports about who our country needs to lead us as the next President, I couldn't help but think all our country needs is JESUS!!! No other man (or woman) can ever restore our land or keep us safe or set us free from all the calamities that seem to keep coming and are coming more frequently. Take a look around us - all the natural disasters, all the violence, all the financial troubles, etc. I cannot help but think all we need is JESUS! This ole world is going down the drain and the only thing that even remotely helps me to want to keep on keeping on is knowing that my Redeemer is coming back one day. Oh, what a day that will be when we see Jesus - the one who saved me by His grace. No more sorrow, no more pain, no more sickness, no more violence, no more tears. I am ready for His return, more than any other time in my life, I wish He would come this very minute. Especially as I look at the world around me and then look at my babies. I don't even want to imagine what they must endure as they get older. But Christians that read the Bible and know the outcome don't have to worry or be down about this life . We know how it ends and this life isn't our home. Heaven is our home and this is only temporary. I have been so worried lately about Obama winning the election, I even told Brandon we may have to move to another country, that I became so concerned with how this country will turn with Obama in charge, not that my confidence in McCain is that strong either, but I support McCain and Palin. I can in no way support Obama and frankly do not understand how any Christian can even think about voting for him. I have finally accepted the fact the no matter how the election turns out, God is in control and He put who chose for this position in office, and I trust My God more than anything in my life, and I will not question that desicion. As Scripture states God hold kings hearts in His hand and can turn them how he chooses. Not the exact wording of the verse, but you get the idea. Just another example of how we humans think we have control over an election and low and behold we don't. Who do we think we are? Photobucket

Monday

We visited my grandparents today and Keira had to pack some of her things. One was this hat Brock is wearing. He loved it! He kept this on for quite sometime and was too funny! That is barbeque sauce on his face and shirt along with slobber. My grandmother seemed to like the hat too, he is so sweet giving her sugar and interacting with her. Then we went outside and Big Papaw let them play in the boat and Brock kept calling floaters "balls" so we ended up with 2 floaters to bring home.

Kingston Country Fair

We headed to the fair Sat. morning and had a good time. Mamaw Sherry rode over with us and Papaw Ronnie met us. We ran into Grammie Em and Papaw Gary and we all had fun. The men went to look at the car show while the ladies took the kids around to see the animals and bounce house. Keira pouted when I said "no" to buying a bunny. She is at the age now where she wants to bring home animals and has been asking for a kitten or puppy. I am all for getting a kitten, but daddy is the hard-head on this one. He says no more animals until Lucky is gone. Well, my bright child has heard this and asks me if " We can give Lucky away b/c she is old" or " Why can't Lucky leave?" So, until Lucky passes or runs away ( which is doubtful since she stays inside all the time) no animals. Daddy also says no more animals inside, we will see how that worls out. I agree with no dogs inside, but I am a sucker when they are little. Cats are so much easier than dogs anyway.
Brock wanted to ride the sheep. He has no fear over any animal so far. He loves to aggravate them. A true boy!!

Thursday evening

Brandon and I had our last softball game Thursday evening and the other team decides not to show up. We were not happy about this, why could someone from that team not pick up a phone and call! There was not one single player from the other team who showed up, so they obviously knew ahead of time. We had went out to eat before the game for Mamaw Sherry's birthday and then my dad drove from Kingston to see the game. Keira was excited to watch us hit. Daddy had hit a home run our last game and she was wanting to see another one. We let the kids run on the field and they had a blast! Our friends children, Baylor and Maguire, joined in in the fun also. In the above pic, Keira tripped running to first, but got up and dusted off the dirt.
WE are going to have to work on the base running before t-ball next yr. Scott and Brandon directed the kids to home. Brock was having such a good time thinking he is as big as the other kids.

My helpers

I decided to wash my car Tuesday afternoon and ended up with help. Brock was having a ball splashing in the bucket and tried to climb in. Sissy is always right there to help him in his endeavors. Max and Ruby is there new names. Those of you that watch Noggin completely understand.
Keira sprayed the water on the car and helped scrub. She is truly a worker. Brock just enjoyed making a mess and getting soaked.

Attack!

Brock kept throwing this golf ball at Lucky while she was trying to nap. After a few times, Lucky was over him. No, she did not bite him, it just looks like it would have turned out ugly on Brock's part. Lucky actually puts up with alot from Brock and has never harmed him, even though she has smacked him some. No claws, so no worries!! Brock still doesn't understand to be gentle with Lucky and one of his big things at the moment is pulling her tail. Even though she is screaming and trying to attack him, he simply laughs! Lucky is 9 yrs old and over kids. Photobucket
