Our new addition

Today we welcomed PayDay into our family. Daddy gave in to his little girl, as I knew he would, and got her a kitten. We got him at Youns William Center in Knoxville. Payday was the name given by the shelter and the other day Keira decided to change it to Victory, which we all liked, and we had no clue where it came from. My first thought was the song, Victory in Jesus, and then someone suggested Victory was a proper name since she had achieved "victory" over her daddy. LOL On the way home this morning, she changed it back to PayDay and so far this has stuck. We made a mistake taking the kids to the shelter to bring him home, they cried and whined the first 20 minutes wanting him out of the carrier and to hold him. No way was he getting on our leather seats in the Cadillac. Daddy was ready to blow a fuse....ha ha I gave them juice and finally peace and quiet. We made it home and Lucky, our 10 yr old cat, was not happy. No fighting or anything, just "growling" at him and she stayed behind the couch most of the day.
Poor payday has no idea what he is in for in at the Looney Leffew house. Keira has hardly set him down all day and we have repeatedly told her he needs to be down. For one thing, he is sore from being fixed, plus shots, and he also has a microchip. I was amazed at the questions we had to answer on the application page and then had to watch a dvd before they let us take him home. The hubby was was so happy to do this!
Keira is beyond thrilled and has told me how happy she is to have a kitten. She has had him in the shopping buggy pushing him around and such, wrapped up in blankets, etc. Needless to say Lucky has never let my kids do anything with her, but I don't blame her. She doesn't want any of us to really hold payday and poor Brock has to pick him up and then hand him over to sissy. I felt kind bad for Brock today, he thought we were bringing home a puppy. He was so sweet saying it and I wish we could have, sort of, no, not really. We said maybe in a couple yrs or 3, or 4....when he gets older. Brandon hates cats so bad, he tried to talk me into a puppy after looking at the cats, and b/c he is allergic to them. However, Lucky han't bothered him, and so far so good with PayDay. Thank goodness! We really don't want to break Keira's heart by having to get rid of him. Cats are just so much easier than a puppy. Photobucket

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the men in our lives. We couldn't get Keira in the pictures! Papaw and Mamaw Leffew went with us to Big Papaw's house and we all enjoyed a great day with the Duncan's.

swimming

Brock was loving jumping off the diving board. Keira took a few minutes to try it and then she was fine. She especially loved Aunt Teresa catching her.

Cookout

Sat. evening we had our dear friends, the Emory's and the Stone's, over at our house for an evening of fun. We had a great time with you all and hope to do it again soon. All 7 kids were wonderful and had a great time playing together. I was rather impressed that we had no fighting, which I had fully expected out of Keira. I thought she would make a huge fuss out of not sharing her toys or being in her room. She had already told me that no one could come in her room. But, once they arrived, she was excited and forgot about all she had told me. Thank goodness!

Busy, Busy

Just like the busy train table above, so has this week been. We have made trips to Chuck E Cheese, didn't take the camera this time, really how many pics can u have of this place. Brock went to his 2 yr check-up and all is well. He is not eating well at all, and I honestly don't know how he is growing at the rate he does. If I didn't see with my own eyes that he weighs 30 pounds, I wouldn't beleive it. He is tall and in the 83% and his head is still large ranking in the 95%. I felt bad telling the nurse he gets 0 sefvings of fruits, veggies, and maybe 1 serving of meats. I do give him a nutrition drink and hope to start vitamins and try the V8 Fusion drink. Dr. Blevins thinks he will grow out of this. We have also discovered he is allergic to some dogs, not all dogs considering we are surrounded by them in our neighborhood and Brock hugs them. So far, a pug and some kind of terrier dog have caused him to break out and his eye was swollen almost shut last week. After his check-up, we ran some errands and I was more of a referree than anything. We then went to a magic show at the library that afternoon before nap. Keira was so good and was into the show. Brock was trying to wrestle sissy and was up running around. He is rotten! I would tap his booty and tell him to sit down and even pulled him into my lap several times, but he was wired. I have really contemplated sending him to "school" this fall for several reasons. Today, Mamaw and I took the kids to Splash Country and had a good time. We seemed to get in trouble by the lifeguards everywhere we went. Don't let the kids up there, he can't sit on the tube that way. Then, this momma bear was about to get some older boys at one place. Brock doesn't like to be splashed or sprayed int he face and they kept shooting him as we would walk by to go to the slide. I almost came unglued on them, because my son is screaming and they kept laughing at him. They may have had a bigger momma bear, but get me fired up and I can be a grizzly when it comes to my kids. Brock and Keira loved the waterslides and kept going and going. Needless to say Mamaw and I were busy. We did have a meltdown as we hurriedly got changed to get to the car before the storm came, they wanted to wear their bathing suits home and I tried to explain why it wasn't a good idea. They didn't understand and momma bear lost patience. We did make it to the car before the lightining started and pouring rain. They did end up with clothes on and I am learning to stop arguing with Keira and trying to reason and just make her do. As my hubby tells me, I cater too much to them and their wants. Part of the problem is me. They were wired tonight after napping in the car less than an hour, and finally calmed down long enough for baths and then bed. Ahh, peace and quiet. Good night!!

2nd party

We decided to have Brock's party at Roane County Park this yr. I wanted to keep it simple, yet fun. Since he loves the park, it was the best decision. The kids had a great time! We had a great evening with family and friends and missed the ones that would have been there, but had other plans already.
I never could get him still long enough to take a good pic. Behind the drink, it says "I'M" I love this shirt! It was perfect for the Cars theme party.
Opening some gifts! He got so many nice things and loved them all.
